Account Director

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Account Director to lead key pharmaceutical accounts and drive business growth for the agency. This role requires a confident leader with a deep understanding of pharmaceutical marketing, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record in both client service and new business development.

Account Leadership

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for key clients, fostering strong, long-term relationships built on trust, performance, and strategic insight

  • Lead day-to-day client business, ensuring work aligns with brand strategy, regulatory standards, and client expectations

  • Translate client goals into clear, actionable plans for internal teams including strategy, creative, medical, digital, and project management

  • Drive the strategic development of campaign initiatives and omnichannel marketing efforts

  • Manage account financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability

  • Mentor and guide junior account staff, ensuring professional growth and excellence in client service

New Business Development

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within existing accounts and through proactive outreach

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on prospecting, lead qualification, RFP responses, and pitch presentations

  • Represent the agency in industry networking, events, and relevant conferences to build relationships and enhance visibility

  • Help shape and refine the agency’s value proposition and service offerings based on market trends and client needs

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of agency experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within pharmaceutical marketing or healthcare communications

  • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards, including regulatory/compliance (e.g., MLR, FDA regulations)

  • Proven experience in managing client relationships, leading integrated campaigns, and growing account revenue

  • Strong understanding of HCP and/or patient marketing across channels (print, digital, social, experiential, etc.)

  • Demonstrated success in business development and pitch execution

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and team leadership skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, life sciences, or related field
